Our Curriculum:

I will post a brief description of what we are currently working on in class. This will help you to know what your child is doing while at school. Please check back often for updates so that you can help support your child's learning at home.

Language Art:

Reading, Writing and Phonics/Spelling

We are reading about famous American women in history for Women's History Month. We will be reading several biographies including Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Helen Keller and several others.

Math
We have taken our post test on regrouping within double digit addition and subtraction. We have started our study on telling time to the 5 minutes.

Science/Social Studies

Science and social studies will be intergrated into language arts and math as much as possible. At this time in science we are learning about animals. We are learning about their needs, habitats and how they survive in Ohio throughout the year.

Homework Policy
Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday. It is due the next day. If it is not turned in the next day they will have their clip moved. After 4 missed homeworks they will have recess taken away for a day. Please remember that homework is an important part of your child's education and should be done in a timely manner. Homework will consist of a math lesson and a reading passage with questions. They are also to read 20 minutes 5x's a week. There will be a book in bag this year and a reading log to be filled out and signed by you.
